19. Trump’s ruinous political deals with huge damage

On 27.9.2024, a debate took place in the “German Bundestag” (German parliament) on the deployment of the German military in Afghanistan.

A committee had worked intensively over 2 years on all the details, some of which were now presented in summary speeches.

  1. It was stated in diplomatic language that Trump contacted the terrorist group “Taliban” without reasonable consultation with NATO and the other allies and bypassing the democratically legitimized government of Afghanistan and now wanted to negotiate with them. With billions and great sacrifices, this democratically legitimized government had been built up and Trump ignored and circumvented it!!!
  2. It was also found that the German side tried to influence Trump and dissuade him from the planned “deal”.
  3. It was also noted that this “deal” unilaterally committed to the withdrawal of Afghanistan without clear concrete conditions. There were thus no secure conditions for human rights, for previous achievements that the military alliance had painstakingly built up over many years. No obligations to respect education for all children, including girls, etc. etc. The only vague statement was that the Taliban pledged to no longer pose a terrorist threat against the US and its allies.
  4. As a result, Trump has given up everything for which a lot of money has been spent and quite a lot soldiers have died: democracy and human rights, guarantees for women and children in education, etc..: all of this is not in the slightest present in the contract!
  5. Attempts to influence Trump failed several times and completely. He, didn’t let anyone tell him anything.

In addition, the following points can be noted:

  • The Afghan government rejected the agreement. One of the main reasons was the release of 5,000 Taliban fighters provided for in Trump’s deal, most of whom could probably be called terrorists. This decision is not up to the US, but to the government of Afghanistan, Afghan President Ghani argued.
  • The “deal” was concluded between the terrorist organization “Taliban” and Trump, i.e. the USA without the elected and democratically legitimized government of Afghanistan, which is an incredible process.
  • The most important part of the agreement, however, was that the Taliban agreed to negotiations with the Afghan government – that should have been the peace talks. However, the government in Kabul was not involved in the talks at all!! The negotiations were to begin as early as March 10, 2020, with the aim of a ceasefire and a political roadmap for the future of Afghanistan, reports the German Press Agency. In particular, it was about how power is distributed in the country.
  • However, Afghanistan’s President Ghani has said: The release of Taliban prisoners can be part of the agenda of the negotiations, but not a precondition for their start. In Trump’s agreement, however, the release was stipulated as a precondition for talks!!.
  • The agreement was then signed in Doha on 29.2.2020 between the US and the Taliban!
  • It can be seen as a scandal that the NATO allies of the USA, who had fought trustingly at their side, and the democratically legitimized government of Afghanistan are not included in this agreement and were not included in the treaty negotiations.
  • In summary, with the fixed withdrawal date of April 2021 (which was extended until the end of August) for the US and all allied forces (which were not even involved in the negotiations), there were no clear conditions and quid pro quos from the Taliban other than vague declarations of intent. All armed forces thus withdrew by 31 August 2021.

It is therefore no wonder that “Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada”, the leader of the Taliban, assesses the agreement with Trump as a “great victory”. It is “the collective victory of all Muslim and jihadist nations.”

Therefore, it is no surprise that the Taliban, instead of negotiating as stipulated in the agreement, carried out about 4,500 attacks on the Afghan National Army in about 2 months after the signing alone.

The agreement, which was incomprehensibly poorly negotiated by Trump, was not adhered to in any way and so it inevitably came to the completely ruthless weakening of the Afghan government, which he did not even invite.

It is an unbelievable process that the President of the USA, bypassing an elected and legitimate government, negotiates a bilateral agreement with a terrorist organization that could not be worse and does not even include NATO’s closest and most loyal allies, but simply has them, who lost soldiers and a lot of money.

He had thus handed over such a catastrophically bad target to his successor that it could only fail.

Trump’s ignorant arrogance had produced a catastrophic negotiation result that anyone with even a little sense can only marvel at.

(Arrogare, a – rogare is Latin and does  mean – a: not, rogare: ask) An arrogant person is therefore one who does not ask, who does not care about other interests and opinions and simply implements his opinion and his desire for recognition.

Therefore, Trump’s actions are the height of an incomprehensible arrogance!!

(ignorararemeans “not knowing”) Trump had no in-depth knowledge of the situation, he had no knowledge of how to shape such an agreement in a positive way, and since he did not ask NATO’s very experienced partners and the government of Afghanistan, which was ultimately at stake, he remained ignorant all along the line. Otherwise, it was also reported that he did not listen even to his own closer advisers in the White House.

The combination of ignorant arrogance is extremely dangerous. This combination applied to his actions in Afghanistan.

What he is very good at, however, is lying and covering up and making other people believe that he is not responsible for the disastrous withdrawal in Afghanistan, which is downright absurd. Namely, he was the one who handed over power in the agreement directly to the terrorists “Taliban” against the will and resistance of the Afghan government and other NATO members. Who could be surprised, then, that the Taliban immediately took the total of power when they withdrew?

The withdrawal could no longer be a success with this disastrous agreement. Biden was perhaps just able to avoid the worst of this chaos caused by Trump as best he could. It was basically botched and could only end badly.

However, the actual responsible person steals from responsibility and insults others for his own catastrophic mistakes out of ignorant arrogance in the worst possible way.

Would anyone work with such an ignorant and arrogant person? An incredible number of people have separated from him after working with him. Trump glorifies it as “firing” and that they have done a bad job. Here the fish stinks from the head.

He is once again the dangerous wrong-way driver against all expertise!

The criticism of him subsequently voiced by these employees is devastating and telling.

Ignorant arrogance is an extraordinarily great danger.

You can’t give such people a responsible job. Failure is inevitable!

Afghanistan is now sinking into chaos thanks to Trump’s great deal!!

Here, too, people are dying.

In Brexit, he influenced Great Britain with his liar friends and supported them that hard Brexit came.

To repeat again: “If these proven liars had been Russian spies, they could not have done better”

The Brexit deal he supported has severely damaged the country and thus also one of the closest allies of the US and NATO.

The betrayal of the Kurds in Syria would be another disastrous topic of his chaotic politics, which is characterized by ignorant arrogance.

The quick deal he has now announced in Ukraine is likely to similarly damage US interests, strengthen the war opponents of democracy such as Putin and others, and thus dramatically damage NATO again.

This ignorant arrogance, combined with his cynical approach of creating anxiety and the false worlds of imagination created by lies and deception, into which he chases and imprisons his followers through anxiety, are an unprecedented threat to the internal and external security of the USA and thus of all democracies.

Likewise, no successful policy with complex relationship structures can be built on such a basis.

This applies to all areas, especially economic policy.
